APOEL FC eshte eleminuar sot nga Kupa UEFA pasi ka arritur vetem nje barazim 1-1 ne ndeshjen e dyte kunder Schalke 04. Schalke kishte fituar ndeshjen e pare 1-4 ne Qipro, keshtu qe kualifikohet per ne fazen e grupeve me nje rezultat te pergjithshem 5-2.

APOEL e filloi mire ndeshjen kur vetem pas gjashte minutash kaluan ne avantazh me nje gol nga Hélio Pinto. Pjesa e pare u mbyll me avantazhin minimal te qiprioteve ndersa ne minuten e 13' te pjeses se dyte Pander barazoi per Schalke.

Altin Haxhi u fut ne fushe dy minuta pas golit duke zene vendin e Christou, por nuk arriti te ndihmoje skuadren e tij per te ndryshuar rezultatin qe mbeti 1-1 deri ne fund te ndeshjes.
